Refund Policy

Thomas & Company Consulting is a one-on-one consulting company. Our work is custom and time-based, delivered over secure video or in person for regional clients. The policy below describes how refunds are evaluated for consulting fees and any other paid items purchased through this Site.

1. Discovery Calls

The 30-minute discovery call offered through this Site is provided at no charge. There is no payment, and therefore no refund is applicable.

2. Business Readiness Assessment

The Business Readiness Assessment is provided at no charge. There is no payment, and therefore no refund is applicable.

3. Consulting Engagements

Consulting engagements are governed by a written engagement agreement signed by both parties. That agreement is the controlling document for the specific engagement and supersedes any general statement on this page where the two conflict.

The general framework is as follows:

• Initial deposit / first installment. Once an engagement begins and any portion of the work has been performed, the corresponding fees are earned and are non-refundable.
• Unworked future installments. If you cancel an engagement in writing before scheduled future work has been performed, you will not be charged for that future work, subject to the notice terms in your engagement agreement.
• Pro-rated refunds. Where a billing period covers work that has not yet been delivered, we will issue a pro-rated refund for the unworked portion within fourteen (14) business days of your written cancellation, less any reasonable wind-down costs already incurred.
• Materials and third-party costs. Out-of-pocket costs paid by us on your behalf or to third parties (software fees, filing fees, document services, etc.) are non-refundable.

4. How to Request a Refund

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] and include your name, the business name on the engagement, the date of payment, and the reason for the request. We will acknowledge receipt within three (3) business days and respond with a determination within fourteen (14) business days.

5. Method of Refund

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method whenever possible. If the original method is no longer available, we will work with you to identify a suitable alternative.

6. Chargebacks

We ask that you contact us first before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your card issuer. Most concerns can be resolved directly and quickly. Chargebacks initiated without first attempting to resolve the matter with us may be contested and, where appropriate, may be referred to collections along with documentation of the work performed.
